What belongs on a client-ready estimate
2 de abril de 20265 min de lectura
A good estimate isn’t a dump of every SKU you might use. It’s a clear story of scope, price, and next steps — written so a client can say yes with confidence.
Clients don’t approve estimates because every screw is itemized. They approve when they understand what they’re buying, what it costs, and how to move forward.
Start with the story of the job in plain language: what’s included, what’s not, and the rough timeline. Then support that story with line items that match how the client thinks — rooms, phases, or packages — not an internal parts list.
Quantities and unit prices build trust when they’re readable. Totals should be obvious. Tax and optional work should be labeled, not buried. If something is an allowance, say so. Ambiguity is where disputes start.
Presentation matters more than people admit. Your business name, contact details, and a clean layout signal that you’re organized before the first payment. A shareable link also beats a PDF that gets lost in email — especially when the client can accept online.
Economique Elegance is built around that standard: AI drafts the structure from your brief so you’re not fighting formatting, then you refine wording and price until it feels like something you’d send to your best client.
Before you hit send, read the estimate once as if you’ve never walked the job. If a friend couldn’t explain the scope from the page alone, tighten it. Clarity closes. Confusion creates follow-up — and follow-up is where deals die.
Ideas clave
- Lead with scope and outcomes, then support with line items
- Label allowances, exclusions, and optional work clearly
- Branding and a clean total make “yes” feel safe
- If it needs a phone call to explain, it isn’t client-ready yet
