Bank Data & Plaid Disclosure
This notice explains how Economique Elegance (“Economique Elegance”, “we”) uses Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to connect your financial accounts, what data we receive, why we use it, how long we keep it, and how you can disconnect.
1. Purpose of this disclosure
Before you connect a bank or credit card, we provide this notice and ask for your consent in the app. Plaid may also show its own consent and Data Transparency Messaging screens. Together, these notices help satisfy privacy and financial-data transparency expectations for production use of Plaid.
2. Who may connect an account
Only authenticated workspace admins (or roles we expressly authorize) can start a Plaid Link session for a workspace. By connecting, you represent that you are authorized to link that financial account for the business workspace.
3. What Plaid is
Plaid is a third-party service that facilitates secure connections between apps and financial institutions. When you use Link, you interact with Plaid and (where applicable) your bank’s OAuth or credential screens. Economique Elegance never receives your bank login password through Plaid Link.
Plaid processes data under its own policies. Review Plaid’s End User Privacy Policy (plaid.com/legal).
4. Data we access (use case)
We use Plaid primarily for Transactions (and related account metadata needed to sync those transactions) so you can review imported activity as business, personal, transfer, or ignored, and so reviewed business expenses can appear on Profit & loss.
- Account information: institution name, account name/mask, type (e.g. depository or credit), and identifiers needed to sync.
- Transaction information: amounts, dates, merchant/name, pending status, and categories provided by Plaid or the institution.
- Connection tokens: a Plaid access token (and Item identifiers) stored securely so we can refresh and sync over time.
We do not use connected accounts to initiate payments from your bank, open new accounts, or sell your transaction data.
5. How we use the data
- Import and display transactions for workspace expense review.
- Let you classify transactions and include business costs in Profit & loss.
- Maintain and repair the connection (including Plaid update mode when credentials expire).
- Secure the service, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
6. Sharing
Financial connection data is available to members of your workspace according to their roles. We share data with processors that help operate the product (including Plaid for linking/sync, our database/hosting providers, and Stripe for SaaS billing — not for reading your linked bank credentials). We do not sell personal or financial account data.
7. Retention & deletion
- While connected: we retain the Plaid Item/access token and synced accounts/transactions needed for expense review and reporting.
- On disconnect: we revoke/remove the Item with Plaid and delete the local bank connection record. Associated imported accounts and transactions for that connection are deleted with it.
- Manual expenses you entered yourself are separate from Plaid imports and remain until you delete them or close the workspace.
- We review retention practices at least annually and when our Plaid products or use cases change.
8. Your controls
- Disconnect a bank or card anytime from Expenses or Settings → Bank.
- Decline consent and cancel Link before a connection is created.
- Manage or revoke data sharing with apps in Plaid Portal where available.
- Contact us at hello@economiqueelegance.com or via the contact form for deletion or privacy requests.
9. Related policies
This disclosure supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. If there is a conflict about bank-connection data, this page and the in-app consent control for the specific connection.
