Privacy Policy

AI drafts polished estimates in minutes — then send invoices, manage customers, and track profit & loss. This Privacy Policy describes how Economique Elegance (“Economique Elegance”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and retains personal information.

1. Scope & controller

This policy applies to our marketing website and application. Controller: Economique Elegance. Contact: hello@economiqueelegance.com. Mailing: United States (mailing address available on request via Contact).

Questions or requests: Contact.

2. Information we collect

  • Account data: name, email, authentication credentials (via our auth provider), profile details you provide.
  • Workspace content: customers, estimates, invoices, projects, payment settings, expenses, and related business records.
  • Billing: plan, subscription status, and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers. Card numbers are processed by Stripe, not stored by us as full PAN data.
  • Bank connections (Plaid): if an authorized user connects a bank or card, we receive access tokens and sync account and transaction information for expense review and profit & loss. We do not receive your bank login password through Plaid Link. See our Bank Data & Plaid Disclosure.
  • Usage & device: logs, IP/approximate location, browser type, and diagnostics needed to operate and secure the service. See our Cookie Policy.
  • Communications: messages you send via contact or support channels.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the product.
  • Authenticate users and enforce workspace permissions.
  • Process SaaS subscriptions and client invoice payments via Stripe.
  • Sync and categorize financial transactions when a bank/card is connected (business expense review and P&L).
  • Send transactional email (invites, payment/billing notices) when configured.
  • Power optional AI drafting features you invoke (prompts and document context).
  • Detect abuse, secure the service, and comply with law.

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we process data based on contract performance, legitimate interests (securing and improving the service), consent (e.g. optional bank linking and certain cookies), and legal obligations.

5. Bank connections & Plaid

Only authorized workspace admins can connect a financial account. Before Link opens, we obtain in-app consent describing the purpose of access. Plaid may also present consent and Data Transparency Messaging. Plaid processes end-user data under Plaid’s End User Privacy Policy. Our statements about financial data are intended to be consistent with that policy.

  • While connected: we retain tokens and synced records needed for expense review and reporting.
  • On disconnect: we remove the Item with Plaid and delete the local connection and imported transactions for that link.
  • We do not sell transaction data or use connected accounts to move money without a separate, disclosed product feature (our Plaid use case is expense sync / P&L).

6. Sharing

We share data with subprocessors that help run the product (hosting, database, auth, Stripe, Plaid, email, optional AI). See Subprocessors. Workspace members you invite can see content according to their role. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell personal information.

7. Retention

We retain account and workspace data while your account is active and as needed for legal/accounting obligations. Bank-connection data follows the disconnect rules above. You may request deletion via Contact; some records may be retained where legally required.

8. Security

We use HTTPS/TLS, managed infrastructure with encryption at rest, and role-based access. Details: Security Practices. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Your rights & choices

  • Access or update profile and workspace settings in the app.
  • Disconnect a bank anytime from Expenses / Settings.
  • Depending on your location, request access, correction, deletion, or portability of personal data, or object to certain processing — contact hello@economiqueelegance.com.
  • California residents: we do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly defined under the CCPA/CPRA. You may still contact us to exercise applicable rights.

10. International transfers

We and our processors may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms provided by our vendors.

11. Children

The service is for business users and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes to financial-data practices will also be reflected in our Bank Data & Plaid Disclosure.

13. Related terms

Use of Economique Elegance is also governed by our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.
