Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Economique Elegance (“Economique Elegance”, “we”) for use of our website and application.

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using Economique Elegance, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and (if you connect a financial account) our Bank Data & Plaid Disclosure. If you use the service on behalf of a company, you represent that you can bind that company.

2. The service

Economique Elegance provides tools for estimates, invoices, customers, expenses, profit & loss, and related workflows. Features may change. Some features (payments, bank sync, AI drafting) require third-party services and may depend on your plan.

3. Accounts & workspaces

You are responsible for credentials and for activity under your workspace. Keep access limited to people you trust. Notify us promptly of unauthorized use. Admins control invitations, billing (where applicable), and bank connections.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of customers, documents, and other content you upload. You grant us a limited license to host and process that content solely to provide the service. You must have the rights to the data you submit.

5. Bank & card connections (Plaid)

If you connect a financial institution through Plaid, you authorize Economique Elegance and Plaid to access account and transaction data for the purposes described in our Bank Data & Plaid Disclosure and the in-app consent you accept. You represent that you are authorized to link that account.

  • Plaid’s services are subject to Plaid’s Terms of Use and End User Privacy Policy.
  • You can disconnect anytime; disconnecting removes the Item with Plaid and deletes imported data for that connection as described in the Bank Data disclosure.
  • We are not a bank. Connected data is for expense review and reporting inside Economique Elegance; availability depends on Plaid and your institution.

6. Payments & fees

Paid plans and payment processing are billed through Stripe. Platform and processing fees described in-product may apply to invoice payments. Taxes are your responsibility where applicable. Failed subscription payments may put your account past due until you update your payment method.

When clients pay invoices through Economique Elegance, charges are processed on our Stripe platform account and eligible net proceeds may later be transferred to your connected Stripe account. You authorize us to reverse, withhold, or reduce those transfers (and to block future payouts for the related earning) if a payment is refunded, charged back, disputed, or otherwise reversed, or if we reasonably believe funds were paid in error.

Refunds of client invoice payments are handled by Economique Elegance support (not self-serve in the product). Card-network and Stripe processing fees from the original charge are generally not returned by Stripe when a payment is refunded. Dispute or chargeback fees charged by Stripe may also apply. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, Economique Elegance may absorb ordinary non-refundable Stripe processing fees on support-approved refunds as a cost of the service; we may still recover from you (including by reversing Connect transfers or offsetting future payouts) the client refund amount, disputed amount, and any dispute fees or losses attributable to your workspace. High refund or dispute rates may result in delayed payouts, suspended payment collection, or account review.

7. Acceptable use

You must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms or create risk to the platform or other users.

8. Third-party services

Integrations (including Stripe and Plaid) are subject to those providers’ terms. We are not responsible for outages or decisions made by third-party providers. A list of processors is at Subprocessors.

9. AI features

AI-generated drafts and extractions fields are suggestions only. You are responsible for reviewing documents and expenses before relying on them or sending them to clients.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that bank sync or third-party integrations will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Economique Elegance and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

12. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your misuse of the service, or your connection of financial accounts without authorization, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

13. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or risk to the platform. Provisions that should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits) survive termination.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless a mandatory local law applies to you as a consumer. Courts in California will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where prohibited.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
